Living At A Riding Stable

It is so different living at our new stable than when we used to just live in a regular house and go to the barn everyday. Now I wake up to the sound of horses whinnying and I love it. I get to ride so many amazing horses but the most specials one to me is little JR who always has her head over the stall door looking for me with her big, gorgeous, kind brown eyes. She brightened my life after I lost Malakeh. JR is the reason I get up every morning with a big smile because I know she is always waiting for her breakfast. The little piggy! Saturdays are my favourite because I wake up, throw on some barn clothes, have a quick breakfast and run out to the barn to see JR's beautiful face. I give her her breakfast and quickly groom her as she eats. Then we head out to the pasture and she plays and romps and rolls and grazes. I help turn out the rest of the horses including the boarders, the lesson horses and ponies, the show horses, the lease horses, the rescue horses and the training horses. Then I get to do whatever I want for about 2 hours after I clean JR's stall (thank god I don't have to do all the other stalls too!). Now I have to go back out and bring in JR, the lesson horses and ponies, the training horses and the rescue horses. Next on the list is to help groom and tack up the lesson horses and ponies. Then I help my dad with the training horses while my sisters help my mom with the rescue horses. Finally I get to groom and tack up JR for our practice/lesson. Usually on Saturdays we work on jumping and do Dressage on Sundays. After our lesson we take a walk on one of our favourite trails with some of my friends. Then when we get home JR and I have some quality time when I just get to relax and groom her and have some peace and quiet. When she is all gorgeous and clean I put her back in her stall or if it's nice out she will get to spend the night in her pasture under the stars.
