No Carriage Horses in Central Park?

By EMILY B. HAGER
Published: December 7, 2011

War Horse pulled something from my heart, says Steven Spielberg

Steven Spielberg has told how he was moved to make a movie version of London theatrical phenomenon War Horse after the play "grabbed me, reached into my heart and pulled something out".

War Horse, based on Michael Morpurgo's 1982 novel chronicling a boy's beloved horse Joey who ends up on the Western Front in the First World War, began at the National Theatre in 2007, in collaboration with the Handspring Puppet Company, and continues to play to packed houses in the West End and on Broadway.

Loving this Hunter!

riding November 7 2011

Kori, Danya, and I went riding Amber and Brandy for Danya and my project for school. The horses were extremely hyper and Amber has figured out how to undo her lead rope from the tree where we tack up. So we had to tie her twice so she couldn't get away. Brandy was grumpier than grumpy, but for her it was perfectly normal. Amber bucked both Danya and Kori as we were riding. They didnt fall off which was good, but we got a huge kick out of it. We have some video of Kori and we laugh constantly at it. I want another day like his soon to go riding.

Living At A Riding Stable

It is so different living at our new stable than when we used to just live in a regular house and go to the barn everyday. Now I wake up to the sound of horses whinnying and I love it. I get to ride so many amazing horses but the most specials one to me is little JR who always has her head over the stall door looking for me with her big, gorgeous, kind brown eyes. She brightened my life after I lost Malakeh. JR is the reason I get up every morning with a big smile because I know she is always waiting for her breakfast. The little piggy!

Shutterfly Retired On Top In Aachen Wednesday.

"After their win in the 1.55 class in Aachen Wednesday night, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum decided to withdraw Shutterfly from today's Grand Prix and retire him while he is still on top. The wonderful gelding has been with Michaels-Beerbaum since he was six years old and according to his groom Anu Harrila he likes people - as long as they are not strangers. What he doesn't like though is getting the saddle on and he definitely doesn't like prize giving ceremonies - which is why he hasn't been to one since he was nine years old although he has had millions of chances.

Boys and Riding.

Boys and Riding. I Have been wondering why a lot of young boys don't ride. I am very thankful for the ones who do, but some think this sport is a joke, which I don't understand. Riding is a very tough sport, and some find it lame. I find it as something amazing and inspiring. It teaches people to work with a partner that you can't tell what to do. It is also exciting and I really thinks guys should at least think about the sport for a second. Its not just about competing, but having a bond with your horse.

Are Wild Horses Native to US? BLM View Challenged - KTVN

"RENO, Nev. (AP) -- American history textbooks teach generation after generation that wild horses roam the Western plains as a result of the European explorers and settlers who first ventured across the ocean and into the frontier.

But that theory is being challenged at archaeological digs and federal courtrooms as horse protection advocates battle the U.S. government over roundups of thousands of mustangs they say have not only a legal right but a native claim to the rangeland.

The number of horses confirmed or suspected to have EHV-1 remains on the rise, with several states reporting cases. A common point of origin for all the positive horses is the National Cutting Horse Association's (NCHA) Western National Championship competition, held April 28-May 8 in Ogden, Utah.
